Janet Emery Obituary

PLYMOUTH – Janet Helen Emery, 81, passed away on May 15, 2024 at Wynnfield Crossing in Rochester. Born on Oct. 5, 1942 in South Bend, Jan was the daughter of John Humphrey and Frances Keller.
Graduating from Washington-Clay High School, she graduated in the Class of 1960. Janet married William H. Emery on Nov. 7, 1992 in Plymouth. She worked as the Accounts Payable Assistant with Plymouth Community School Corporation for over 15 years, retiring in 2006.
Throughout the years, Jan and Bill savored their time together traveling to look for antiques. Some of her favorite treasures were her Winterberry Dinnerware and Fenton Glass collections. In her free time, Jan also enjoyed reading, watching movies, and listening to music.
Jan will be fondly remembered by those who knew her as being someone who didn't know a stranger and was loved by those who got the privilege to know her. She always enjoyed visiting with friends and family; and she especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life.
Jan will be missed dearly by her husband, Bill; children, Chris (Felicia) Crowel, Cheryl (Joey) Fellores, and Andy (Theresa) Crowel; grandchildren, Emily, Wyatt, Ruth, Justin (Moriah), Collin, Paige, Faith, Samantha, and Audrey; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Zechariah, Gabrielle, and Giselle; and sister, Margaret Horvath.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances along with siblings, Jack (Ginny) Humphrey, Sharon (James) Lynch; brother-in-law, Julius Horvath; and her beloved Shih Tzu, Brutus.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Krieg officiating.
Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Center for Hospice, 1419 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
