Kathryn F. Thompson, 92, of Argos, IN, went to be with her savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, peacefully in her home.
Kathryn was born to Robert and Ethel (Rhoads) Walters on Nov. 18, 1932 in Argos, IN. She graduated from Richland Center in 1950 and then attended Business School in South Bend, IN. She married Jack Thompson on Oct. 10, 1954. They had seventy wonderful married years together. She is best known as an impressive homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Kathryn found joy in the company of her big, loving family, especially her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and generations of greats. She shaped the heart of her community-a member of Parkside Community Church of Argos, Friends of the Argos Public Library, Whippoorwill Ladies Aide, Marshall County Chorus for 50 years, Missionary Review Society, Argos Fair Board, Walnut Ruralettes Home Ec. Club, Bluebird Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, and Church Secretary. Her hobbies were abundant- sewing, gardening, baking pies, watching her hummingbirds, socializing, and supporting Argos sports and music. She will be remembered by her radiant smile and contagious laughter-beautiful reflections of a life lived to the fullest.
Kathryn is survived by her husband: Jack Thompson; daughters: Barbara Thompson of Indianapolis, IN; Sally (Kurt) Schwarz of Deephaven, MN; Roberta Thompson (Patricia Kraps) of Cincinnati, OH; Karra (William) Duff of Argos, IN; her daughter-in-law, Debra Thompson of Argos, IN; her grandchildren: Travis Thompson; Jessica (Kevin) Scheil; Ella (Judson) McKown; Jack (Krista) Schwarz; Carlsen Duff; and her great-granddaughters: Khloe Scheil; and Everette McKown.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel Walters; her son, Mark Thompson; and her brother, William Walters.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET at Parkside Community Church (225 S. Michigan St., Argos, IN 46501).
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. ET at Parkside Community Church with a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET.
The burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery (Argos, IN).
Memorial contributions may be made toward a bench in Kathryn's honor at the Marshall County 4-H Fairgrounds (Marshall County 4-H Council, 112 W.
