Robert Milliser Obituary

Robert L. Milliser, 85, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
Born on April 29, 1937 in Plymouth, Indiana he was the son of Russel and Evelyn (Hurford) Milliser. He attended LaPaz High School graduating with the class of 1955. After graduating he enlisted in the Army serving two years and was honorably discharged as a Specialist 4th Class in 1958.
Robert and LeAnne grew up together all the way through High School. He always knew that he wanted to marry her from the first grade. After he waited for her to go through a few boyfriends, they sat down and finally talked. His intelligence won her over and on Nov. 30, 1958 he married LeAnne J. Miller at Shiloh Wesleyan Church in Bremen, they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage together.
Robert worked for Bendix for a short time before going to work for Clark Equipment in Data Processing and Telecommunications before retiring in 1990. After retiring Robert and LeAnne went into the antique business together, building, restoring, repairing and selling. Robert and LeAnne loved to travel and made it to all 50 states and few countries such as Canada, Mexico, Israel and Turkey.
He was a self-taught man who learned how to paint, fish, bow hunt deer, and play golf. His children have fond memories of Robert skinning rabbits on their grandmother's porch, that would soon become dinner.
Robert also was an avid coin and Carnival Glass collector. He was a member of the International Carnival Glass Association.
He is survived by his beautiful wife LeAnne of South Bend; daughters: Anne (Roger) Pierce of South Bend; Kay Beam of New Paris, IN; Joy Jacquez of Goshen; brother John Milliser of Plymouth; sister-in-law Linda (Miller) Fine of West Monroe, LA; Grandchildren: Alex (Courtney) Pierce of South Bend; Jared Pierce of South Bend; Sabrina Pierce of South Bend; Adam (Crysten) Beam of Phoenix, AZ; Zachary (Hayley) Beam of Goshen; Tiffany (Caleb) Bourland of Bentonville, AR; Ashley (Scott) Ostrander of Niles, MI; Tyler Manges of Pueblo, CO; Mercedez Manges of Pueblo, CO; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and brother Roger Milliser.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their service and support, especially his nurses Jennifer, Shanna, Vavara, and Kylie, and his aide Sabrina. We also want to thank the VA for providing caregiver support through Home Instead with special thanks to LaVaria Johnson, his personal caregiver.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
