1947 - 2018

Dottie Marie Nixon, 70, of South Whitley, Ind., passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1947 in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of Robert and Laura Miller. On May 29, 1976, in Rochester, Ind., she married Michael J. Nixon and he survives.
Dottie was a graduate of Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis, and had a bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She had worked as an accountant for many years at Fox Products in South Whitley. She attended Christ's Covenant Church in Winona Lake, Ind., for more than 30 years and had attended Cornerstone Grace Church in South Whitley. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, playing golf with her husband and enjoyed finding that good bargain.
Survivors include her husband, Michael J. Nixon, of South Whitley; children, Tony (Stacey) Hausman, of Mooresville, Troy Hausman, of Lebanon, Jonathan Nixon, of South Whitley; four grandchildren, Brent Hausman, Axel Hausman, Trey Hausman and Jocelyn Nixon; mother, Laura Miller, of Frankfort; and sister, Helen "Jeanne" (Steve) Howell, of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at Christ's Covenant Church, 2090 E. Pierceton Rd., Winona Lake, with Pastors Edward Robertson and Rod Valentine officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Lakeland Christian Academy, 1093 S. CR 250 E., Winona Lake, and one hour prior to service at the Church. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Ind.
