PHILIPSBURG - Bernice E. "Bernie" Mohney, 92, of RD Philipsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill, RD Philipsburg.
Bernie was born on Jan. 15, 1933, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Alva "Budd" and Claire (Rowan) McQuown.
Bernie was a 1950 graduate of Punxsutawney High School.
She was married on Feb. 15, 1952, in Punxsutawney, to Ernest A. "Ernie" Mohney, Sr.. They celebrated 73 years of marriage until his passing earlier this year on March 14, 2025.
During her working career, she was employed as the manager of the Gibson Card and Gift Shop (Cardland) in Punxsutawney.
Bernie and her husband had been residents of Philipsburg since 1982; and they were members of the First Church of Christ, RD Philipsburg. She was also a member of the former Punxsutawney Order of the Eastern Star Lodge; and an Honorary Member of the New Bethlehem Eastern Star Lodge.
Bernie was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Allysa Mohney; four sisters, Sara Keyes, Helen Mack, Doris Bloom and Marilyn Rhodes; and a brother, Ronald McQuown, in addition to her parents and husband.
She is survived by their children; Laurie D. Raybuck (Jack), of Clarion, Karen L. Neuman (Shalom), of Easton, and Brian D. Mohney, of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Chad McKenrick (Becky), of White Haven, and Scott Mohney, of Punxsutawney; two great grandchildren, Laken McKenrick and Christa Mohney; two step-grandchildren, Amanda Raybuck Fleming (Bill) and Dan Raybuck (Jodee); three step-great grandchildren: Brooks and Ryla Fleming and Ethan Byers; and numerous other extended family members.
A memorial service celebrating Bernie's life will be held at the First Church of Christ, 1437 Tyrone Pike, Philipsburg on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles A. Lefort officiating.
The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
There will be a luncheon in the church hall following the service.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Grange.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Bernie's memory to the First Church of Christ, 1437 Tyrone Pike, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
