Charles Wilkinson Obituary
Born on Dec. 10, 1948 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Donald Wilkinson and Margaret (Hewitt) Wilkinson Wayne.
Chuck was a veteran of the United States Navy.
On Nov. 7, 1970, he married his wife of 54 years, Helen (Monahan) Wilkinson. She survives.
He worked as a blaster for the Benjamin Coal Company and Douglas Explosives for over 50 years.
Chuck loved to read, color, and was a leather craftsman. He enjoyed working on anything with his hands. Above all, he loved, and cherished spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed playing games and board games with them.
Along with his wife, Chuck is survived his children, Carrie Weaver and her husband Gordon of DuBois, and Danielle Minarchick and her husband David of West Decatur; two grandchildren, Lacy Garthwaite and Isabella Minarchick; one sister, MaryAnn Gallaher; and four brothers, Terry and Tim Wilkinson and Tom and Jamie Wayne.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Alex Wilkinson.
There will be no public visitation and a service will be held at the convenience of the family.
