CHAUNCY HARMIC Obituary
He was born on July 26, 1924 in Grampian, a son of the late Chauncey and Lena (Spencer) Harmic.
Mr. Harmic was employed by the state Department of Transportation for 20 years before retiring in 1984. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Matthews Coal Company of Grampian.
He served with the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 of Clearfield. He was Methodist by faith
He is survived by his son, Daniel D. Harmic and Faith of Curwensville; three grandchildren, Dana Milo and husband Tony of Maryland, Sherry Gardner and husband Scott of Hepburnia, and Nathan Harmic of Curwensville; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette I. (Spencer) Harmic on April 11, 2006, and whom he wed Oct. 19, 1946 in Rockton. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Harmic; two sisters, Bertha Hubler and Emma Harmic; and four brothers, Earl, Forrest, Max and Tom Harmic.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be at Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 72 N. Sixth St., Grampian, PA 16838.
