Florence Harmic Obituary
Born March 22, 1942 in Clearfield, she was one of five children of the late Alfred and Mildred Laird Royer.
On Aug. 26, 1963, Florence and Thomas Harmic were united in marriage.
Before her retirement, Florence was employed as an accountant for several car dealerships.
She was a member of St. Paul's Nauvoo United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and was very active in Liberty Ladies Quilting Group.
Florence is survived by her husband, Pastor Thomas Harmic of Liberty; daughters, Renee (Timothy) Gates of Liberty, Bobbi (Paul) Shields of Blossburg, and Robin (Gregory) Purdy of Liberty. A daughter, Melissa Myers, preceded her in death. Also surviving are a son-in-law, Richard Myers of Mount Wolf; grandchildren, David (Christie) Harmic, Stacey (Hugh) Parsons, Richie Myers, Catie Shields, Ali Shields and Addison Gates; great-grandchildren, Amelia Harmic and Evelynn Harmic; brothers, Leo Royer and Raymond (Susan) Royer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Florence in death in addition to her parents and daughter Melissa were a brother and sister.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, Dec. 15, at St. Paul's Nauvoo United Methodist Church from 10-11 a.m. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. with Sue Heyler, lay speaker, officiating. Additional services will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, at Spring Valley United Methodist Church, West Decatur. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., with the service at 2 p.m. with Sue Heyler officiating. Interment will be made at Stoneville Cemetery, Clearfield County.
