CORY DUNLAP Obituary

FLINTON - Cory B. Dunlap, 45, of Flinton, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Born April 13, 1978 in Olanta, he was the son of Harry E. and Sheila G. (Stein) Dunlap.

Cory served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry/mortar man and a Marine Corps Water Survival School Instructor. After eight years of active duty with the rank of staff sergeant, he became a government employee for the Marine Corps working as a training specialist and then curriculum developer. He then worked for the Department of Health and Human Service in this capacity. Turned government employee while serving with the USMC, he had two deployments in Afghanistan, and ice in Iraq. He earned numerous medals, decorations, badges and citations during his career serving his country, including a Presidential Unit Citation, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.

He was a life member of the VFW. He obtained Masters degrees from Campbell University and Penn State University.

Surviving are his parents; his wife, Jojo Dunlap of Flinton; daughter, Natasha R. Marino (David) of California; son, Tylor M. Dunlap (Brooke) of Washington; three granddaughters by Natasha, and two grandsons, Jaxson and Maverick Dunlap by Tylor; two brothers, Matthew E. Dunlap of DuBois, and Jesse T. Dunlap of Ebensburg.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son Kaleb I. Dunlap; and his adored Grammy Phyllis Dunlap.

Funeral Services for Cory Dunlap will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023 at 1 p.m.

He will be laid to rest beside his son Kaleb at the Mt. Zion Cemetery following the services. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by member of the Clearfield Honor Guard.

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital. www.stjude.org
