DENNIS ROACH Obituary

OSCEOLA MILLS - Dennis Lee Roach, 74, of Osceola Mills, passed away in his home on July 19, 2024.

Born on Sept. 23, 1949, in Philipsburg, Dennis was the beloved son of Lawrence Roach and Margaret Roach (née Mann). He attended Philipsburg Area High School and began his lifelong journey of dedication and hard work.

On May 5, 1969, Dennis married the love of his life, Linda Lee Pryde, in Erie. Together, they shared an incredible 55 years of love and companionship.

Dennis spent his early working years in Buffalo, N.Y., employed by General Motors. Later, he returned to Pennsylvania and pursued a career in general contracting and construction. His projects spanned schools, residential housing, and prisons. All the while, he was dedicated to rebuilding his own home and raising his children.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, and their two children, Dennis Roach Jr. and his wife Lynn Anne of West Decatur, and daughter Krista Roach of Osceola Mills. He was a beloved and cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life: Kristine Frank of Osceola Mills, Kali Roach of State College, Seth Roach of Vacaville, Calif., Cory Roach of Houtzdale, Sadi Roach of Chester Hill, Rayne Terrier of State College, and River Roach of West Decatur. He is also survived by his great-grandson, "Pap's Littlest Buddy" Ronan Hutton of Chester Hill. He was also survived by his brother George Roach of Pennsylvania and Carol Maines of Pennsylvania, Nancy Kephart of Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Kelli Roach of Osceola Mills; his brothers Lawrence Roach Jr. of Osceola Mills and Melody Supenia of Philipsburg.

Known for his many skills and talents, Dennis was an incredibly hard worker, a mentor, and a hero to his children and grandchildren. He was a selfless giver and a person who could master any task he set his mind to. Dennis had a passion for gardening and creating beautiful landscaping, transforming his surroundings into stunning and serene spaces. He loved Western films and country music, and would even strum a banjo on occasion. He brought happiness and laughter to everyone he met and was beloved by his family, neighbors, and friends. His strength, loving heart, and integrity live on in his children and grandchildren.

In accordance with Dennis' wishes, there will be no public visitation or services.

Heath Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Osceola Mills will handle all arrangements.

Dennis' legacy of love, hard work, and dedication will be forever remembered by those who had the honor of knowing him.

"Hey neighbor" were always the first words Denny always greeted me with. We shared many stories, jokes, a few tall tales and even a few tear over the years. Always ready to lend a hand or any tool I needed. His family was his main concern and was proud of all of you. Rest easy now brother. I'll catch with you later. My condolences to the family.
