Lorraine R. Michaels

Lorraine R. Michaels was born with God's many wonderful gifts of talent. Lorraine used the Lord's gifts throughout her life with sincere devotion and dedicated service. On Aug. 20, 2025, Lorraine's Heavenly Father reached out and took her by her tired hand and led her to her eternal heavenly home of peace and joy with Him.

Lorraine was the youngest of six children to Fred and Minnie (Shikalla) Rasdorf. She was the last of her generation.

Lorraine married Floyd L. Michaels. Together they had two children, Melissa and Brian, both of Morrisdale. She loved her children and was very proud of them. She is survived by her children.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; brothers, Fred and Oscar; sisters, Cecilia, Violet and Lillian; nephews, Jim and Brad; and nieces, Ruth and Deneile.

Lorraine enjoyed working with people. She worked in the banking industry for years. She tirelessly served as the Cooper Township Tax Collector for many years. Lorraine was blessed with musical talent. She was an organist for her church, St. John's Lutheran, for over 47 years. She has played in churches from New York to Georgia during her lifetime. She used her talent as a pianist to teach piano to numerous children over the years. Lorraine also applied her musical talent with singing in and directing many adult and children's choirs for many years with her church.

Lorraine's love of children brought her to express her talents to work with children. She taught Sunday School with her church for decades. She was an active participant and then leader for Youth Groups and Vacation Bible School throughout her life. She also became a Christian Preschool teacher for many years. She was so beloved by her students and families that long-term friendships were made, and relationships kept for many years after graduation.

Lorraine dedicated her life to her faith in God and service to Him faithfully. She used her Gifts from God to serve her church first and foremost throughout her life. In additions to playing the organ, directing choirs, Youth Groups and teaching Sunday School/VBS, she headed committees for worship, St. John's Ladies and other organizations. She created altar flower arrangements and decorated the church for special events. She made Christmas Crismons (religious ornaments) and banners that have been used for decades to enhance the church. She organized church bazaars; landscaped flower beds; and organized special projects.

Lorraine also served her community whenever a need was present. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and other groups when asked.

Lorraine never lost sight of the importance of her faith in God, specifically, Jesus as her Savior. She was confident in her salvation and is now at rest in Christ's Kingdom where there is no more sorrow or pain.

Lorraine's wishes are that all services and internment be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of service of your choosing or become involved in service to your church or community.
