LOUIS JOHNSON Obituary
He was born Oct. 19, 1934 to Louis N. Sr. and Ellen (Anderson) Johnson in Buffalo, N.Y.
Louis was a chief warrant officer four of the Army Reserve Unit based in Clearfield with over 30 years of service. Additionally, he was a civilian employee of the Army Reserve Maintenance Unit based in Punxsutawney until his retirement in 1992. In addition to numerous other awards, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal twice, in 1992 and 1995.
Louis was a member of Mahaffey Alliance Church where he served as a board member, church treasurer, trustee and in other church activities. Louis enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sports and school events and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lois A. Johnson, Mahaffey, on July 21, 2022; his parents; a brother, Elmer; and four sisters, Hulda, Marie, Luella and Dorothy.
He is survived by two sons, Gary L. Johnson and wife Pamela of Rochester Mills, and Roger A. Johnson and fiancé Paula Miller of Penfield; two daughters, Sharon L. Voris and husband Timothy of Mahaffey, and Tina M. Collins and husband Gregory of Clearfield; five grandchildren, Jared Voris, Andrew Voris, Breanna Voris, Daniel Collins, and Matthew Collins; a sister, Madelyn Stiffler of Indiana; and a brother-in-law, Clair Stiffler and wife Nancy of Mahaffey.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 31, from 2-6 p.m. at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market St., Mahaffey, PA 15757. A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brett Larson officiating.
Interment will take place at Mount Zion Independent Church Cemetery, Mahaffey.
The family has asked that masks must be worn by everyone attending the visitation and funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mahaffey Alliance Church, PO Box 23, Mahaffey, PA 15757.
