NORMA DILLEY Obituary

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Norma Jean "Jean" Dilley, 85, of Hagerstown, Md., beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Sterling Care South Mountain Boonsboro, Md.

Norma Jean was born on Sept. 26, 1938, in Clearfield, to the late Mary Alice Charles Clark and Caston Travis Clark.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She was a 1957 graduate of Clearfield High School, and a 1958 graduate of Stewards and Ground Crew Training Center, Minneapolis, Minn., and immediately employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance in Washington, D.C. for her experience and knowledge in teletype operation. It was there that she met and married her beloved and belated husband, Burnell Everett Dilley.

Later, she and her husband moved to Washington County, Md. where she became a certified nursing assistant and employed in rehabilitation and care facilities. When her husband acquired the Williamsport Shell Service Station, she became his financial assistant using her accounting skills. Then onto another adventure of using all her skills, she was employed by the Valley Mall Hagerstown, Md. When semi-retired she returned to work as a professional caregiver for the elderly and disabled for private individuals.

Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 61 years.

She is survived by her sister, Sharon Louise Clark Novak of Martinsburg, W. Va.; brother Ronald Caston Clark and sister-in-law Amelia Guy Clark of Clearfield; daughter, Sheryle Ann "Sherry" Evasic and son-in-law Ronald Robert Evasic of Hedgesville, W. Va.; grandson Robert Marshall Evasic and his wife Breanne Nicole Reznicek Evasic; and very much-loved great grandchildren Emilia Grace, Isabella Clair, Wyatt Jacob Evasic all of Tekamah, Neb.

Interment will be private, an end-of-life celebration is being planned.
