PHILLIP BIANCUZZO Obituary

CLEARFIELD - Phillip M. Biancuzzo, 88, of Clearfield passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at Penn Highland's DuBois.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1936 in Clearfield, a son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Maloney) Biancuzzo.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 and served on the Clearfield Borough Council for 17 years.

Throughout his life Mr. Biancuzzo was no stranger to leadership or hard work - at the age of 14 he worked for the Pooler and Peteuil family's market in East End. After the United States Army, he cooked at Glosser Brothers in Johnstown, upon moving back to Clearfield he worked at Stackpole Carbon Plant, Harbison Walker, Clearfield Hardware Co., until he began his company B & B Sawmill, in 2015 he retired from Rich Coast Coffee.

With unfailing faith and love for his family, he is survived by five children, Joseph Biancuzzo and wife Kandy, Dennis Biancuzzo and husband Gary, Steve Biancuzo and wife Tammie, Brian Biancuzo and wife Renee all of Clearfield and a daughter Lisa Kovalick and her husband Kenneth of Lecontes Mills.

He was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine P. (Mendolia) Biancuzzo on May 15, 2010 and whom he wed on April 25, 1959 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Mr. Biancuzzo was the last living member of his generation, preceded in death by his parents; and nine siblings, Joseph, Frank, Anthony, Salvatore, Mary, Nicolette, John, Grace and Carmen.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday Jan. 30, 2024 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Internment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery Clearfield.

Family and Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral home and Crematory, Clearfield on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
