SAM DIEHL Obituary

CURWENSVILLE - Sam W. Diehl, 76, of Curwensville, passed away Sept. 1, 2023 at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Feb. 11, 1947, the son of Walter and Catherine Holes Diehl of Thompsontown.

He was married to Carol Kanouff, who survives; along with son Sam Diehl of Virginia; sister, June Brozal of Altoona; brother, Tim Diehl of Fallentimber; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and Carol's children, Robert Steve Goodman and companion Cindy Hoyle of Curwensville, and Michael Goodman of Grampian.

Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wendy Sue; brothers, John and Robert; and sister Delores Hockenberry.

Sam loved the outdoors and hunting.

He was employed at C&K Coal Co., Hepburnia Coal, and Camberg Services. He was a member of Curwensville Masonic Lodge and a social member of Curwensville V.F.W.

Sam's wishes were to be cremated with no viewing or services.

Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home, Inc. of Irvona is in charge of arrangements.
