SHIRLEY HOOVER Obituary
Born on Oct. 28, 1935, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Fishburn) Parnay.
On Jan. 10, 1953, in Hagerstown, Md., she married Marvin E. "Bud" Hoover. Bud passed away on Nov. 18, 2023.
Shirley attended the Snow Shoe High School. She was extremely proud that she earned her GED later in life. She was of the Methodist Faith. She was a homemaker.
Shirley was a collector of Snowman and Fenton Glassware. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds from her picture window. She liked watching game shows, especially Price is Right and keeping up the with local news on TV. She really liked the new weatherman on TV10. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family.
Shirley is survived by her children, Marvin R. "Randy" Hoover of Pine Glen, Peggy R. Hoover of State College, Todd E. Hoover and Debra "Debby" Hoover Hill, both of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by one brother, George Parnay and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Lakeland, Fla..
Along with her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son in-law, Paul H. Hill.
Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe.
Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating. The burial will be private at Advent Cemetery in Pine Glen.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to United Way of Centre County (ccunitedway.org); or to PAWS, 1401 Trout Rd, State College, PA 16801
Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Snow Shoe.
