Virginia A. "Ginger" Wade

1938 - 2025

CHESTER HILL - Virginia A. "Ginger" Wade, 87, of Chester Hill, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born on Feb. 6, 1938, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Carl and Lettie (Millner) Eckberg. Though her birth name was Virginia, most would know her by the nickname, "Ginger."

Virginia was a graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.

Early in her working career, she was employed with several Philipsburg businesses: Charles Navasky & Co., the former Ibberson's Dress Shop and the former Western Auto Store. She spent most of her career operating a daycare service out of her home until her retirement in 2011 after 22 years in business.

Ginger was married on Oct. 24, 1959, in Philipsburg, to Wilbur P. "Bill" Wade, who survives at home.

She is also survived by three daughters: Carla Rosselli and her husband, Ray Sudik, of Morrisdale, Lorri Somsky and her husband, Paul, of (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg and Traci Fotorny and her husband, Scott, of Mill Hall; a son, Jeffrey Wade, of Philipsburg; grandchildren: Carissa Rosselli (Bart Redmond), Taylor Rosselli and Kate Rosselli, all of Charlotte, N.C., Kara Bryan, Drew Bryan (Sarah), all of Philipsburg, and Michael Fotorny, and Erik Fotorny, both of Mill Hall; three great-grandchildren: Ilsa, Elliott and Sonny; and numerous other extended family members.

Ginger was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg; and the Philipsburg B.P.O. Elks Lodge & Country Club, Lodge #1173. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with Pastor Laura Kyler, officiating.

The family will receive guests on Thursday at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

There will be an Elks Memorial Service at the funeral home on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
