Willis Kerfoot Obituary

PHILIPSBURG - Willis S. "Wid" Kerfoot, 91, of Pleasant Hill, Philipsburg RD, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at his daughter Hecla's residence in Sandy Ridge.

Born Dec. 7, 1933 in Philipsburg, he was a son of Walter and Effie (Graffius) Kerfoot. Wid was a member of Cornerstone Community Fellowship and Hope Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Wid was a veteran of US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1995 from Cleveland Brothers where he worked in counter sales.

On July 26, 1959 in Philipsburg, he married Janet L. Smith, who preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2003.

Wid is survived by his children, Scott A. Kerfoot and his wife Penny of Morrisdale, Hecla L. Killion and her husband Tommy of Sandy Ridge, Kristi L. McQuown and her husband Daniel of Ramey and Patrick D. Kerfoot and his wife Alicia of Morrisdale; five grandchildren, Danielle Schaefer and her husband Thomas, Collin Kerfoot and his wife Kalena, Macy Mitchell and her husband Peter, Bella Kerfoot and Mya Redmond; two great-grandchildren, Briauna and Charlotte Schaefer, and several nieces and nephews.

He is the last of his generation and is preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, Ernest; a sister, Mary Stutts; and a nephew, Mike Kerfoot.

The family will receive friends at the Cornerstone Community Fellowship, 184 Clearfield St., Wallaceton, on Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 1 p.m. Pastor Matt Scott will officiate the memorial service.

Wid will be laid to rest at the Philipsburg Cemetery Columbarium.

Although flowers are thoughtful and appreciated, memorial contributions in Wid's memory may be made to Warrior Works Foundation, 412 Schoonover Rd., Morrisdale, PA 16858.
