Clarence Suffecool Obituary
Born January 13, 1925 in Sylvan, PA, he was the son of the late Roy Otha and Cora Viola (Weller) Suffecool. He married his wife Janet Louise (Stine) Suffecool on June 15, 1946. She died on August 21, 2013.
Jiggs worked at the former Fairchild Aircraft and at various local construction companies. He last worked at and retired from The Eagle Construction Co. of Greencastle.
He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1943-46. He was a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 of Greencastle and the Waynesboro V.F.W. Post #695.
Jiggs was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waynesboro. He enjoyed camping at Saunderosa, putting puzzles together, assembling model airplanes and cars, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving family are one son Mark A. Suffecool and wife Cindy of Waynesboro, one daughter, Cindy L. Hahn and husband Larry of Greencastle, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson Jerry Suffecool, four brothers and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 19 at 2:00 PM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle with Pastor Drahus Oslik officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Rescue Hose Co. Ambulance, 842 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA 17225. Online condolences to the family may be given at www.zimmermanfh.com.

We visited Uncle Clarence last month and had a very nice visit We spent the afternoon listening to him recall stories of his experiences during WWII. He told us about being at the Normandy invasion and his years in the Navy. We really enjoyed his stories about family also. We will treasure those hours we shared.
