Derek Recard Obituary
Mr. Derek A. Recard, 40, of Waynesboro, PA died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Born July 16, 1980 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Rosalie A. "Rose" (Rovnak) Ropp of Frederick, MD and the late Larry A. Recard.
Derek served with the United States Army and was later employed as a fork lift operator at various warehouses.
He enjoyed crabbing in Ocean City, MD and hiking in the mountains.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Austin M. Moore of Hagerstown, MD and Avaya Dawn Recard of Waynesboro; his companion, Summer Rowney of Waynesboro; his grandmother, Delores K. Recard of Waynesboro; his step-mother, Beverly S. Recard of Waynesboro; and numerous extended family members.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Glenn T. Recard.
Private graveside services will be held in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
