Shirley Hull Obituary

Shirley Kay Hull, 81, of Westminster, MD died peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. Born August 6, 1935 in Smithsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Deal) Schildt. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Hull.
Shirley worked as a representative for Carroll County Human Services for several years. She was a devoted member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown. She was a devout believer with a heart for evangelism. Shirley enjoyed playing piano, gardening, caring for her home, sitting on the deck and watching storms, and spending time with her beloved family.
Surviving are children, Robert Lynn, Jr. and wife Lois of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, Denise Coil and husband Terry of Westminster, Greg Lynn and wife Kim of Hagerstown, and Angie Dedmon and husband Don of Taneytown; sister, R. Janet Kivi and husband Ahto of VA, and brother, Terry Schildt of Smithsburg; step-daughter, Kim Barnhart of Smithsburg; 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by two previous husbands, Robert E. Lynn, Sr., who was the father of her four children, and Charles T. Buffington.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787, with Trinity's Pastor, the Rev. Cristopher Frigm, and Carroll Lutheran Village Chaplain, the Rev. Jimmy Schwartz, officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address, or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2219 York Rd., Suite 302, Timonium, MD, 21093. Memorial contributions to help defray funeral expenses may also be made to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E, Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787.
