Albert Vargas, 80 of Vacaville, passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Oct. 5. Albert was born in San Pablo, Calif. on July 28, 1935, the fourth of 11 children to Primo and Michela Vargas. After graduating from Armijo High School in 1954, he honorably served in the U.S. Army, and then as a linesman, carpenter, termite control specialist, and handyman that could fix anything.

Albert had a deep devotion to the Lord, always ready to share his love of Jesus with others. He attended the Father's House in Vacaville, Miracle Christian Worship in Dixon, and Shiloh Church in Oakland. He was a member of the Full Gospel Business Men's club and the Cursillo Movement.

For the last 25 years he served on annual missionary trips to Mexico. He loved prayer and worship and spending time with his family with good food and fellowship.

Albert is survived by his stepchildren, Vincent Barma and Elaine Barto; brothers, Sam (Lupe), Ruben (Mary), Primo (Rita, Lyn-deceased), David (Sandy), Michael (Susan), and Edward; sisters, Helen (Vincent Vazquez) and Rachael (Richard Englund-deceased); numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara; stepdaughter, Mary Barma; his parents; brother, Raymond and sister, Carmen (Henry Castillo-deceased).

There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at The Father's House Christian Church, 126 Peabody Road, Vacaville. He will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon.

May he spend eternity in heaven, praising the Lord in the presence of angels.
