Poppa Charles passed peacefully away in the loving arms of his daughter, Ruth Morgan-Bieber, on Oct. 29. They were surrounded by the wonderful caring staff at VacaValley Hospital. He was 101 years, 2 months and a day.
Charles Edward Morgan was born in Bethnal Green, London, on Aug. 28, 1909, the second youngest of six children born to Emma and Tom Morgan.
Charles married his one and only sweetheart Ellen in 1938 and they had one child, a daughter, Ruth.
After his beloved wife Ellen passed away in 1994, Charles made the big decision to leave England and emigrate to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Robert Bieber, in California. He flew to his new life two weeks after his 88th birthday.
Poppa loved his new life in Suisun, Fairfield and finally in Vacaville, where he and Ruth moved in 2004 after their beloved Robert passed away.
Charles always lived an active life, cycle racing, soccer, swimming and in his garden growing vegetables and tending his roses. His years in California were greatly enhanced by the joy and love he received and returned from everyone he met, especially his adopted American family and friends.
Charles leaves his daughter, Ruth; his wonderful nieces, nephews and friends in England and other parts of the world and his so much loved family and friends here in his adopted country.

One of the few joys of having my dad at Vacaville Convalascent & Rehabilitation Center was to encounter a wonderful and amazing man of 101 years Charlie Morgan. It was a true but all too brief joy to have made this wonderful friend and his daughter Ruth.

Ruth, my heart goes out to you at this time. Your dad was a sweet wonderful man who is charming the angles now. My prayers are with you and let me know if there is any thing you ever need. Tara
