Daphne Logan Obituary

Daphne Anne Logan, beautiful 20-month-old, cherished daughter of Joseph A. and Rachel V. Logan, died early Nov. 15, 2010, at Alaska Regional Hospital due to complications of a rare genetic disorder, Pallister-Killian Syndrome, which led to congestive heart failure.

Her family stated: "Although her stay with us was brief, we were blessed to have Daphne in our lives. Her vivid blue eyes, curly blond hair, huge gummy smile and magnetic personality drew people of all ages to her. By example she taught us courage, strength, patience, happiness in small things, and pure, unconditional love."

During her short time here on earth, Daphne touched the hearts of many people with her loving nature, happiness, courage, strength and incredible ability to communicate. Born March 11, 2009, she enjoyed "campering" with her family, listening to music, singing, dancing, watching lights, swimming in her bath and in the warm pool at Dimond Athletic Club, and spending time with her close cousins, Brayden, Tyler, Soleil, Lucian and Chander.

Her very favorite activity was snuggling and playing with her beloved Mama and Daddy, which never failed to elicit her beautiful smiles and gurgles. "She is now in the arms of Jesus, dancing with the angels, until we are joined together again," her family added.

In addition to her parents, Daphne is survived by her grandparents, John and Linda Logan of Anchorage, Linda Brafchak of Sierra Vista, Ariz., John Brafchak of Wheeling, W.Va.; her maternal aunts and uncles, Rebecca Logan and Walter Raynes, Sarah and Stuart Jackson, Jade Logan and Johan Iversen, Joseph T. Logan, Aaron Logan, and Leah and Kevin Carter; and her paternal aunts and uncles, Laurie and Lenny Warner, Amy and Rob Crow, Paula and Gerry Amundson, John Brafchak, Nick and Jennifer Brafchak, and Monica and Chris Villella, and numerous cousins and extended family; and untold numbers of friends and acquaintances who have been praying for her.

A funeral Mass will be held for Daphne at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Saint Benedict's Catholic Church, 8110 Jewel Lake Road. A potluck reception to celebrate Daphne's life will follow in the church's multi-purpose room. A special invitation is extended to all those who have been praying for Daphne and her family.

"Daphne is dearly loved, achingly missed, and will be remembered forever. "To increase awareness of Daphne's condition, we encourage you to visit www.pkskids.net."

Arrangements are with Legacy Funeral Home's Bragaw Chapel.
