He was a lifelong resident of Vacaville and employed by the city of Vacaville for 20 years.
He graduated from Vaca High in 1980. While in school, he was involved in track and field throwing shot put and held many records in discus throwing.
He began working at the Remark and then became a deckhand at Mare Island on the dredge barge. He moved onto wharf builder and later pile driver. Following Mare Island, he began working for the city of Vacaville Sewer Department. He transferred to the water department in 1992 coming up through the ranks of maintenance worker I to his current position as field utilities supervisor. Don was a very dependable employee and was the "go to" guy for the maintenance division. His technical experience and knowledge of the water transmission and distribution system, as well as the wastewater and storm drain collection system, was greatly relied upon.
He was a longtime member of the Sunday Night Men's Stag group and a PBR fan. He belonged to the NRA and VMO.
He enjoyed the outdoors, his home, his family and was a skilled woodworker.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Leola Sequeira.
He is survived by his father, Lloyd Sequeira of Vacaville; his cherished wife of 10 years, Michelle "Shelley" Sequeira of Vacaville; son, Daniel Sequeira of Vacaville; daughters, Staci Sequeira and Randi Sequeira, both of Vacaville; granddaughter, Sarah May Sartain of Germany; sisters, Diane (Steve) Kerr, Gale (Roger) Bubak, Janet Mauldin and Joyce Fondersmith; aunt, Bernice Deboyce; numerous nieces and nephews; everyone at the city of Vacaville; and many, many friends.
Don will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 4910 Allison Parkway, Vacaville, CA 95688.

Don was such a good man, a true man for all seasons.
Our family met Don through our son Matt. Matt was involved in Vacaville HS track and field in the mid 80s. Although Don had graduated several years before, he took the time to help Matt out with his shot-put and discus throwing. This friendship lasted through the years and Don's track and field skills continue even now, as Matt is the field coach at Seattle Prep in Seattle, WA.
Periodically, Don would stop by and visit with us as he went on up Wykoff hill to see his folks. I, especially, appreciated the extra care he took in making sure the lower Wykoff water drains were working when the rains poured and created Wykoff Lake in front of our home.
It was great to see Don, Shelley and Daniel this past summer when they dropped by for a BBQ. Mercy, what a beautiful family and such a sad loss. Hopefully, the love, prayers and support of family and friends will help lighten your burden during this very difficult time.

My condolences to Don's family.
To his dad still up on the hill, his loving wife, his big sisters, his proud son and daughters and the new grand child he never saw.
I will remember Don with his guitar with the fox or racoon tail hanging down and him doing his best to rock out ...trying to get Joey to behave or Rick sing a Bon Scott song he pained to do. His parents house up on Wycoff was always a refuge for our group of guys with his mom and dad tolerating our sometimes wild behavior and being really friendly and kind to us.
It is with a heavy heart that I gotta say goodbye to Don. I will remember him when his son Daniel was born... with Don lying next to him on the floor and staring at the newborn with a very proud gaze on his face which read, "look what I created".
Rest in Peace Brother, and like Pat wrote "we shall see you on the other side", where we can go for a swim, rock out and go for a long hard hike.
