Fred Bray

1956 - 2021

On September 4, 2021, Fred Bray of Dixon, CA, passed away in his sleep at the age of 65, after a tough battle with cancer. Fred was born to Norman and Grace Bray on March 6, 1956 in Los Angeles, CA. Fred was the youngest of four children growing up alongside his three older sisters, Eileen (1945), Vivian (1946), and Sharlene (1952). He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his two sons, Nicklas (25) and Buddy (24); and his grandson, Troy, who was born on June 20, 2021. Fred leaves behind many very close friends and family members that will always remember the joy he brought to their hearts.Fred was a long standing member of the Solano County community, having grown up in Fairfield where he attended Armijo High School. Fred eventually left high school early to embark on a professional motocross racing career. He had an affinity for driving fast and loved to test the limits of anything he got behind the wheel on. He also worked for many years for the city of Vallejo before he and his wife Brenda decided to open their own business, called Discovery Landcare. In 2001 Fred and his family moved from Fairfield to Vacaville where they stayed until 2013 before finally settling in Dixon for the last eight years.Those who got to know Fred over the years knew he loved being around friends and family. Some of his favorite hobbies and interests included cars, firearms, hunting, fishing, offroading, dining out, and family gatherings. He always loved helping others out in his community, setting up and partaking in charity golf tournaments, crab feeds, and other fundraisers over the years. There will be a memorial service for him this Saturday October 9 at 12:30 p.m. at the Olde Veterans Hall in Dixon, CA.
