Jerry McDaniel Obituary
Jerry grew up in Rutherford, CA. He attended St. Helena Elementary School, Robert Lewis Stevenson (RLS) Middle School, and graduated St. Helena High School with the class of 1974. He worked several summers as a horseman/wrangler at the Buck's Lake Resort and Stables, in Quincy CA.
Jerry was a proud member of the Teamster's (Local 490) and worked several years as a warehouseman at the Luckys distribution center in Vacaville. Later in life, he worked for the State of California Department of Corrections as a heavy equipment operator. He worked at both the San Quentin and the Solano/Vacaville facilities until 2004.
Family and friends all knew Jerry as the "Life of the Party" due to his humor, laugh, and solid presence. Jerry enjoyed a life in the outdoors. Spending time camping, hunting, fishing and golfing with his family and friends, creating lifelong memories. Jerry often mentioned that his favorite place on earth was to be amongst the pines in the Gold Lake Basin, in Plumas County, CA.
It is also a well known fact that Jerry idolized the infamous "Duke" (John Wayne). With an impressive collection of cowboy hats (and boots), Jerry was proud to be part of the cowboy way. Jerry was an accomplished marksman on the trap and skeet ranges as well. He shot competitively for many years, earning several esteemed awards.
Jerry will always, and forever, be loved and missed by his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Malorie Murphy (Kyle), Vacaville; his "soon to be" grandson, Mason James Murphy, Vacaville; parents, Ray and Maggie McDaniel, Vacaville; his twin brother, Gary McDaniel (Joeni), Napa; his sisters, Kathy Nelson (Craig), Umpqua, OR and Donna Giltner (Bill), Vacaville, and Malorie's mother and Jerry's friend, Michele McDaniel, Vacaville. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jerry is proceeded in death by his uncle and close friend, Wesley "Red" McDaniel.
A Celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m., at the home of Gary and Joeni McDaniel, 1070 Las Amigas Road, Napa. Info: 224-7335.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that you make a donation to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of Jerry McDaniel.

Hey Jer, hope you got to see the smile on mom and dad's faces last night at the concert. So glad they got to see Clint Black perform. I was trying to them a meet and greet, but wasn't able too. But the lady I was talking to, was able to get Clint to sign a poster for them. When mom and received last night. They were so surprised and they couldn't believe he signed it just for them. Hey Jerry. It's been about a month since I wrote. We are doing pretty good. Jared is getting tall and Gianna is really into basketball. She had her last game yesterday.
