John McIntyre Obituary

June 20, 1957 - Jan. 5, 2014
John McIntyre passed away unexpectantly at home on Jan. 5. He was born in Kings Lynn Norfolk, England on June 20, 1957. John traveled to many places as he was growing up, following his father and stepfather during their Military careers. He made California his home in 1977. Music was John's first passion at the age of four he received his first guitar for Christmas and at the age of 10 his first electric.
From that moment on he knew he wanted to be a musician. As a teenager he and his friends would play music endlessly. In 1979 John joined CP Krunt and started another chapter in his musical career. Over the years he played in many bands; 5150, Direct Current, The Coolers and local bands, The Lizards and Grey Daze. John touched many with his music and formed lifelong relationships with his former band mates. John's other passions included being an ever faithful 49ers fan, military and biblical history.
He was a member at Unity of Valley Spiritual Center where he was the "Sound Man".
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen McIntyre; son, Ryan Crawford; stepdaughter, Amanda Bouffard; his mother and stepfather, Doreen and Russ Hoffmann; stepmother, Linda McIntyre; brothers, Steven, David and Keith McIntyre; sister, Lori Frakes; grandchildren, Yelena and Ryan Crawford Jr. and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved so much. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer McIntyre. Johnny Mac, keeping rockin' up there and turn it up to 11!

I'm so sorry to hear of such a talented (way too young) man's passing. I spent many nights dancing to the music played by John & his band mates. Great memories! Many Blessings!

I thank everyone who signed this guest book. Just knowing he had so many friends is comforting to me. Especially the long ago friends from England Wow. Johnny was so well known through his music and his wonderful love for people how crossed his path. As his mother Johnny and I was so alike. I like him loved music especially rock N roll. but I could not sing like him. My 20 years in the church choir was enough. I miss him so much and regret no spending more time together. With him living on the other coast it was hard.
Blessing to you my beautiful son. I will see you agin some day.
Love Mum

John lived a very full life, although a short one. He is in God's hands now and I know, although you, Kathleen and the rest of the family are grieving for him here on earth, God is rejoicing in his return to Heaven.

John was thoughtful, curious, inquisitive, philosophical and funny. He also played some exquisite guitar passages, and I am grateful to have performed music with him and to have been his friend.

I met John just as I was entering the Sacramento club scene when I was 20 years old. His attitude towards me was always very respectful and supportive which meant a lot. Veterans often aren't as nice to rookies as he was to me and I really appreciated it. I'm sorry to hear that he's gone. RIP

haven't seen john in so many years. but it saddens my heart that an old friend from long ago, has left us. John was always a fun, smart, entertaining and interesting guy to be around. the brief time i played with him was for me, a real 'education'. i will always cherish that, from him. he always watched over me, and did endear himself to me in a way that only leaves one to look up to another with a fond gratitude and fatherly-like admiration. thank you john for just being a good guy and a genuine friend. you are truly missed
