A celebration of life Mass for Kurtis "Kurty" Meek of Vacaville will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1791 Marshall Road, Vacaville.
Father Joselito "Boyet" Vibandor will officiate.
Kurty passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2007, after a long battle with an illness. Kurty was born in Vallejo to Victoria Mendoza and Kurt Meek on Dec. 15, 1997.
Kurty attended Vacaville Christian Academy, Sierra Elementary, and Cambridge Elementary schools. He was a wonderful son, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and brother. Kurty loved life and was loved by all who met him.
Kurty enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and riding his bike. He also loved building Lego kits (the bigger the better) and playing video games. He also loved holiday get-togethers with his family.
Kurty is survived by his mother, Victoria Mendoza (Scott Noble); stepbrother, Justin James Noble; father, Kurt Meek; maternal grandparents, Jose and Esther Mendoza; maternal great-grandparents, Amalia Mendoza of El Paso, Texas, and Esther Arellano of Sacramento; paternal grandparents, Duane (Irece) Meek and Jolene Meek (Brad Byassee); paternal great-grandmother, Adele Bartolomei of Martinez; uncles, Jaime Mendoza and Kenny Meek (Christina and cousin Julia).
Kurty also leaves a large extended family and numerous friends who were embraced by his love and kindness.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the George Mark Children's House, 2121 George Mark Lane, San Leandro, 94578.

Lil Kurt was a special gift as every child is and I saw that at his services. Everything was just perfect and so memorable. Both families were so strong and loving.
We were all blessed to have known Lil Kurt and that is why we need to be at peace that he is out of pain and Truely An Angel that touched us all.
* I pray that he is watching over all of the children and friends that he once had by his side.

Victoria, Uncle Joe, Tia Esther, and Jaime:
We love you guys so much and our hearts ache that Kurty is no longer with us. We mourn with you and are there for whatever you need. Kurty was truly a great kid. We will always remember the good times together swimming, eating, laughing and having fun together. He was always happy and cheerful and enjoyed every minute of being a kid. Through his loss and the loss of Alexander, God is truly showing us to appreciate our children and teaching us how to love them more. We will always remember Kurty's enthusiasm for sports and video games. He was highly skilled in both. He also always treated the adults around him with respect and got along great with Xavier. Kurty was an awesome kid who will be greatly missed. In his short time here he has taught us many things including a greater love for our family and those around us, perseverance among great trials, and a child-like enthusiasm for the life we have been given. He was extraoridinaroy for a child in that he never talked about his illness or wanted to be treated differently. He lived the life that he was given to the fullest. WE LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!!!!!
