Robert Bornemann Obituary

May 24, 1942 - July 16, 2013
Robert "Bob" Bornemann, age 71 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on July 16, surrounded by his loving family after a long courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.   
Bob was born on May 24, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to Alvin and Aura Ethel Bornemann. He married his high school sweetheart, Frances on Jan. 24, 1962. Bob dedicated 34 years to his career with Safeway; managing milk, cheese, and ice cream plants across the U.S. 
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances of Fairfield; daughter, DeAnn and son-in-law, John Atallah of Vacaville; daughter, Chanda and son-in-law, Wayne Williams of East Longmeadow, MA; grandchildren, Alexandra and Robert Atallah and Abigail, Catie and Ben Williams; brothers, Phil and Roger Bornemann of Oklahoma; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and life long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard. 
Bob never met a stranger with his outgoing personality, infectious smile and love of life! He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor.  The family is grateful for the exceptional care and love he received while living at Solano Life House (Cherry Street) in Dixon.   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration; www.theaftd.org. 
Services will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 2 p.m., at the Dixon United Methodist Church, 209 N. Jefferson St., Dixon. Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker, you may sign the guestbook at www.bryanbraker.com.  Additional service and burial will follow on Wednesday, July 24, in Yukon, Oklahoma.
