Ruth Virginia Washington

Ruth Virginia (Smith)Washington was born on March 25, 1933, in Gordo, Alabama, to the late James Henry and Lillie Cile, (Blalock) Smith. She is 1 of 17 children. Ruth departed this life 90 years young on September 23, 2023. Ruth was the military spouse of Johnny R Washington for 25 years, settling in Fairfield California for nearly 60 years. She was employed with Solano County for 17 years, as a counselor. Ruth is survived by her children Ida Maye Edwards, James R Washington Sr., Maurice Washington, C. Renee Washington Chapman (Gilbert), Cedric Washington, 10 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her Sisters, Annie, Gay Parker of Ohio. Sarah Thomas of Alabama, Evelyn, Pat Wiggins, Cooper of Fairfield Yvonne, (Rev Roy) Williams of Alabama and brother Joe (Geraldine)Smith of Alabama.
