Tama Richardson Obituary

Jan. 25, 1925 - Dec. 31, 2014

Tama Kim Richardson passed away peacefully on New Years Eve 2014 in Vacaville, at the age of 89. She lived a full life before losing to congestive heart failure.

Born in Japan to Takeo and Yama Takazawa. she was the eldest of five children, brothers, Hideo, Tomohise, Yukiyasu and sister, Yoshi.

She met and married Clyde Edward Richardson right after the WWII occupation of Japan. In 1952 they moved to the United States spending many years in the Suisun / Fairfield area. It was there that she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde.

One of Tama Kim's proudest moments was when she passed and received her U.S. Citizenship in 1968.

She worked at Travis AFB in the Base Billeting Services and retired from her civic service position after 30 years.

Her hobbies included cross stitch, needlework, ceramic arts, crocheting, playing Bingo and various card games. She enjoyed playing her own form of Solitare in her last days.

Tama Kim is survived by her sons, Morris (Ginger), Norman, Harold (Robin), Marvin (Choi), James (Liz) Richardson and daughter, Catherine (Harry) Roberts; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday, Jan. 11 at 12 noon at the Opera House, 560 Main St., Vacaville. A private burial will occur on Monday, Jan. 12 at the National Cemetery in Dixon.

The family wishes that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in Tama Kim Richardson's name to the Yolo Hospice, PO Box 1014, Davis CA 95617. The family thanks them for their support in Kim's final days.
