Myron Neal Nissen, 70, of Fremont died Thursday,
Feb. 25, 2010, at Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont.
He was born April 19, 1939, in Oakland to Bodolf and Frances Nissen. He resided in Oakland for 35 years, lived in West Point for two years and lived in Fremont for the last 30 years. He attended Rock Grade School in Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School in 1957. He married Prudence Wickstrom on Nov. 27, 1960, at the First Lutheran Church in Oakland. He was involved in farming from 1960 to 1973. He worked for Vigortone as a sales representative in Fremont. He was employed by Del Peterson and Associates in Fremont. He then helped start Great Plains Auctioneering Company in West Point. He worked for Taylor and Martin Inc. for 28 years and became part owner for his last six years with the company. In the mid 1980s, he got involved in farming again in the Burt and Cuming County areas.
Survivors include: his wife, Prudence; a son Tim (and wife, Dennette) Nissen; three daughters, Connie (Mrs. Jim) Schartz of Omaha, Tammy (Mrs. Chad) Sukstorf of Cedar Bluffs and Christie (Mrs. Alex) Gelsomino of Los Angeles; two brothers, Marlin (and wife, LaVonne) Nissen and Loy (and wife, Shirley) Nissen, all of Oakland; four sisters, Leona (Mrs. Harold) Hultquist and Ila (Mrs. Duane) Laaker, all of Fremont, Inez Diers of West Point and June (Mrs. James) Wood of Lincoln; a brother-in-law, Emory (and wife, Verlee) Wickstrom of Oakland; a sister-in-law, AnnaBelle (Mrs. Dan) Olson of Oakland; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a brother-in-law.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends after 4 p.m., at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery in rural Oakland.
