Mary Rexer

1932 - 2018

Mary A. (Gallagher) Rexer, 86, of Cedars Passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Frederick J. Rexer, III. Born January 4, 1932 in Chestnut Hill she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (O’Donnell) Gallagher. Mary previously worked as a secretary for the Glass Bottle Blowers Union in Philadelphia and traveled to many conventions all over the country. Upon moving to the North Penn area she took a position with Merck, Sharpe and Dohme as an executive assistant. Mary served as the Secretary to the Corpus Christi Home and School Association, Home Room mother and Hoagie Sale coordinator for many years. She also devoted time to the Lions Club and was Lion of the Year in 2003. She loved the Phillies and trips to Avalon where she could sit on the beach for hours doing a crossword puzzle, reading a book and enjoying the ocean breeze. She was also an avid fan of Jeopardy; the phone was not answered between 7:00 and 7:30pm. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Rexer of Skippack, and Patricia Rexer of Philadelphia; her brother James Gallagher of Maple Glen, sister-in-law Lia Gallagher of Reading, sister-in-law Lillian Rexer Allegrezza of Ephrata and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446, where friends may call for the viewing from 9 – 10:15 AM.
