Donald Huckaby Obituary
Donald's professional life was dedicated to upholding the highest standards in quality engineering. He began his career working in the family business, and his impeccable work ethic and problem-solving skills led him to a fulfilling career working at various facilities throughout Bartholomew County.
Those who knew Donald were well aware of his passion for golf. He was a regular at The Hangar, where he enjoyed breakfast with his golfing buddies before setting out for a round of golf. Sharing these moments with friends brought tremendous joy to Donald's life.
His love for his family was unparalleled, he cherished his son Tyler whom he was exceptionally proud of and he loved spending time with his wife Kristy, on their serene trips to Holmes County, Ohio. Exploring Amish villages and appreciating the simplicity of life there were experiences that Donald held dear.
Older muscle cars were another of Donald's enthusiasms, reminiscent of his youthful days driving his Dodge Demon through Garden City. His dogs, Jude and Cooper, were also a significant part of his life, their companionship bringing him comfort and happiness.
Donald is survived by his wife Kristy A. (Adkins) Huckaby; mother, Hallie Coryell Huckaby; son, Tyler Huckaby of Evansville; brothers Allen and Gary Huckaby both of Columbus; mother-in-law, Juanita Adkins; brothers-in-law, Garry Adkins, Terry (Jerri) Adkins, Larry (Becky) Adkins; and Jerry (Angela) Adkins; sister-in-law, Kathy (Keith) Wagner and many nieces and nephews. Donald is preceded in death by his late father, Junior L. Huckaby and his father-in-law, Marvin Adkins.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Barkes, Weaver, and Glick Funeral Home on Washington St. with Pastor Evan Guse leading the service. Friends and family may gather for a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
