Jack Foist Obituary

Jack E. Foist, 91, passed from this life on Sunday, February 23rd at 11:39 a.m. at Four Seasons Health Care Center. Jack was born on April 28, 1933, the third of six children, to Willard "Casey" Foist and Fern Nickerson Foist. He retired from the military as Master Sargent after serving in the Korean War with 27 years of service in the US Air Force, Army, and Army Reserves. He married Beth Senn in 1962 in Madison, Wisconsin and lived there for 58 years, retiring from Thorstad Chevrolet as Service Manager after 25 years. He also served as a detective and chauffeured many celebrities in Wisconsin, Bob Hope being one who always asked for Jack when he was in Madison.

Jack returned to Columbus, where he was born and raised, after Beth's passing in August 2020 to be with his siblings and family. Survivors include his sisters, Betty Lowery and Nancy Cordry, his brother, David (Mary Ann) Foist, sister-in-law Sheryl Foist, a stepson Michael Foist, many nieces and nephews, and close friends Emma and Jay Tableau of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Willard "Bill" Foist, sister Donna Brooks, and son Jackie Foist. There will be no public services. A private burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery.
