Julia Paetzel Obituary

Julia Ann Paetzel, 82 of Hope passed away Saturday June 8, 2024 with her husband Larry by her side.

Born September 27, 1941 in Indianapolis she was the daughter of Frank and Betty Cunningham Brock. She married Larry Paetzel May 25, 1974 and he survives her.

Julia retired as a Human Resource Manager from Cummins Engine Company after 32 years of service. Julia had been a former pension administration manager. She had also previously been employed by Arvin Industries. In 1993 she received an Excellence Award in Comparative Advantage Through People.

After retirement Julia and her husband Larry moved to North Fort Meyers, FL.

Julia was a member of Edinburgh Chapter of Eastern Star.

She enjoyed reading, ceramics, hummingbirds and having conversations with friends.

There will be a graveside service for Julia's family and friends on Saturday June 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Because of Julia's love for her pets memorial contributions may be donated to Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Julia is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Paetzel of Hope; step children, Randy (Rachel) Paetzel of Hope, Jan Plowdry of Columbus, Jeff (Adora) Paetzel of Hope, Valerie (Steven) Douglas of Columbus, John Paetzel of Columbus and Scott (Robbi) Paetzel of Columbus; 16 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Dan Brock of Kokomo; nephew, Jeff Brock of Oklahoma.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, son, Mark Allen Foster; nephew, Doug Brock; sister in law, Linda Brock and step grandson, Jacob Paetzel.
