Keith Lamb Obituary

It is with great love and treasured memories that we celebrate the life of Keith Alan Lamb, who passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at his home in Holton, Indiana, at the age of 70.

Keith was born at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, on September 22, 1955, to the late George Donald and Ruth Sybil Lamb. His family moved from Chicago to Columbus, Indiana, when he was nine years old.

Keith proudly served his country and his community in two distinguished, concurrent careers. He joined the Marine Corps and served for four years. Following this, he served in the National Guard for 22 years at Camp Atterbury, retiring as a Captain in 2002. While serving in the National Guard, Keith also began his career with United Parcel Service (UPS), where he worked for 22 years before retiring at the age of 58, in 2013. He was deeply devoted to both his military service and his career with UPS.

In his youth and throughout his adult life, Keith was a passionate fan of baseball and basketball. He had a great love for traveling and camping, especially enjoying being around the water and seeing new places. He enjoyed attending the Hopewell Baptist Church in Holton.

On January 23, 2021, Keith married the love of his life, Mona LaBolt, who survives.

Keith loved his family deeply. Other survivors include his brother, Brian (Cindy) Lamb, of North Vernon; sister, Donna (Ulf) Zimmerman) of Alameda, California; daughters, Jennifer Zapfe, of Osgood, Indiana, and Aubrey Trotter, of Seymour, Indiana; and his son, Jacob (Carrie) Trotter, of Hope, Indiana. He was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Bryce and Abigayle Trotter, and Braydon Gill, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Ruth Lamb; son, Chad Zapfe; and his grandson, Dylan Zapfe.

Keith's life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Luke Koors officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

You are invited to view his video tribute, leave a condolence message to the family and light a virtual candle of remembrance online at www.jewellrittman.com.

I am so sorry to hear about Keith passing. He was such a wonderful person and I prayed for him everyday. I know that you were so good to him and I know that you are heartbroken. We are in Alabama so won't be able to come to memorial. Enjoyed our breakfast together when Keith was feeling good. Please text or call anytime. I'm so glad he had you in his life!
