Phyllis Schafstall Obituary

Phyllis J. Schafstall, 80, of Columbus, passed from this life at 10:34 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Phyllis was born February 10, 1944, in Columbus, the daughter of James S. and Jean McDougal Brown.

She retired from the Columbus Regional Hospital in medical records.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cats and reading and coloring.

Survivors include her daughters, Megan (Paul) Seymour and Amy (Dr. Brian) Niedbalski both of Columbus; grandchildren, Tayler Seymour and Ray and Jacob Niedbalski; brother, Steve (Linda) Brown of Columbus and a sister, Linda (Jerry) Brown of Greenwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funreal Home on Washington Street with Father Chris Wadleton officiating.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 11:30 a.m. to time of service.

In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, cremation is planned.

Her cremated remains will be laid to rest in section 64 at the Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society.
