Frank Grigsby Obituary

In memory of Frank L. Grigsby who passed away February 21, 2022.
People who knew Frank understood he was a family man who was always involved in whatever his kids did growing up, from BMX racing as kids to cars as we grew. Yes, cars and hot-rods were a huge part of his life. His knowledge and passion for these beauties would have generations coming to him for advice. Heck, he even made sure his daughter had the fastest car in high school back in the day, and we boys didn't fair too badly either. Although cars were always welcomed, our dad's biggest love was his wife Susan Grigsby. Married for over fifty years, their love for one another was always true.
In the 1970's, Frank would venture out and start a small business that would end up being respected by everyone in the trade. His hard work and long days would make his business a top choice in Northern California. His expert advice would even help some of his employees start businesses of their own.
One of the things people loved most about Frank was his witty sense of humor, always cracking a joke and having you on edge as you're laughing even though you may have been the punchline. It was okay because it was Big Frank saying it. There were also many stories about Frank growing up with his buddies that would bring a shocking smile to anyone's face. It was easy to visit, and sit and talk to him for hours about cars, life, or just old times. Regardless of whether you had known him for years or were meeting him for the first time, he always left an impression. With his funny, easy-going personality, yet intimidating stature, we kids would sometimes test him. It turned out that a look from him was all that was really needed. He was a big guy who would tell it like it was with no sugar-coating, but also someone to whom you could talk with. He'd give you a big bear hug if needed or he'd be quick to tell you, "Don't be a tight ass. Go do it."
One thing is for sure, he was a great husband and dad to our families. Heck, a lot of our friends called him dad. He was an awesome grandpa, Papa, to all of his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved each of them and supported them in whatever it was they did. If something got broken, Papa could fix it before Grandma found out-lol. No matter what title you gave him-husband, Dad, Son, brother, Papa, uncle, friend, or boss-Frank was always there. He was a constant in people's lives, so when they say, "Another good one's gone," he is of whom they speak. His memory will carry on as he dances in heaven with his sweetheart.
He is survived by his loving family. Frank was never one for funerals. As he would say, they are just too sad. He has chosen to be cremated and wants us to enjoy life and take advantage of every moment we are given.
