Harry Barnes Obituary

Harry Lance Barnes left this life after a valiant 12 year battle with cancer. Harry served in the United States Army, assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) as a Green Beret during the Vietnam War, 1967-1971, during which time he was wounded, ending his time in the military as an E-6 Staff Sergeant. After his military career Harry became a Certified Master Plumber. From 1972 to 2021 he put his leadership skills to work and became one of the top Foremen for RCI Plumbing. He always took pride in his work and whether he knew it or not, he passed his work ethic on to a select few. Those lucky few would come to simply call him "Grandpa". Harry enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and hunting with his favorite crew in Colorado. Harry was a tough S.O.B. Harry was preceded in death by his father William S. Barnes, mother Marilyn R. Barnes, brother Richard A. Barnes and nephew Levi S. Cook. Harry is survived by his son, William S. Barnes, sisters Valerie A. Johnson, Mildred P. Cook, Kathryn L. Yadon and Edie M. Murphy as well as many nieces and nephews Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 29, 2021 at 3:30pm Legion Hall 6700 8th Street Rio Linda, CA 95673 **Memorial Service at National Cemetery at Dixon with Military Honors will be held on Monday November 1st at 3:00pm
