James D. Allen, 80, of Rogersville, formerly of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Nov. 4 in Rogersville.
He was a retired teacher and principal from Hawkins County School System following 40 years of service.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill.
He enjoyed eating breakfast and playing golf with his buddies on Thursdays.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Naomi Allen; and a brother: Alvis Allen.
He is survived by his daughter: April Myers and her husband, Charles; grandchildren: Anna and Carl Myers; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Nov. 8 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home.
Graveside service will follow in Highland Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Gerhardt and Mitch Russell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cherokee High School, c/o CTE Fund, 2927 Hwy 66, Rogersville, TN 37857.
