Eddie Sherrill

BRYSON CITY - Reverend Eddie Sherrill, 81, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Lewis Edwin and Jacqueline Hall Sherrill.
He was a pastor for 61 years. He was a beloved husband, father and Paw. He was a people person and loved the Lord. He dedicated his life to his faith and his family, and he showed it in everything he did.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanie Sherrill; brother, Danny Sherrill; and great-granddaughter, Lorelai Clubb.
Eddie is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Peggy Sherrill; children, Donna (Jerry) Miller of Burnsville, Sherrill (LaVonda) of Bryson City, Diane (Benjamin) Pieper of Seymour, Tennessee and Karen (Bill) Millsaps of Bryson City; grandchildren, Jeremy (Holly) Sherrill of Bryson City, Justin (Samantha) Miller of Burnsville, Jordan (Jessica) Sherrill of Bryson City, Lauren (JD) Clubb of Burnsville, Christopher Tuck of Bryson City, Allison Sherrill of Bryson City, Emma Millsaps of Bryson City and Rosemary Millsaps of Bryson City; step-grandson, David McCracken of Cherryville; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jerry, Timmy, Layne, Maci and one girl on the way in Sept.; and sister, Elaine (Karl) Rohr of Columbia.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Brothers Mike Holcomb, Marty Pressley and Justin Ledford officiated. Burial followed in the Rev. Eddie Sherrill Family Cemetery.
The family received friends from 12 to 2 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Sherrill, Jordan Sherrill, Bill Millsaps, Jerry Miller, JD Clubb, Justin Ledford and his great-grandsons, Jerry Sherrill, Timmy Sherrill and Jayden Messer.
