Wanda Buchanan Obituary

TAZEWELL, TENN. - Wanda Simonds Buchanan, 77, was called home by the Lord early Friday morning, Aug. 22, 2025, with her loving husband by her side.
A native of Swain County, Wanda was a daughter of the late Dee and Hazel Simonds, and was also preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth, Junior, Larry and Melvin.
Wanda is survived by her husband, of 42 years, Elmer J. "EJ" Buchanan Jr.; daughters; Tammy Gail (Johnny) Cloer and Paula D. (Aidan) George; grandchildren, Leah (David) Fowler, Hannah (Bradley) Hefner, Sean George and Emma George; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Addy, James, Ava, Bella, Layla, Kaycie, Abigail and newest arrival Daylon; sister, Gail Keel of Simpsonville, South Carolina; and several beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and countless friends from church and the community which she loved so dearly.
Wife, mother and granny. Faithful servant of God. Being those were her greatest loves, and memory of that shall live on in those of us left to follow. We will love you dearly and miss you terribly, until a glorious day shall come when we meet again.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28 at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Holly Springs Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Chapel.
