Wilma Stephenson Obituary

Wilma "Meme" "Ethel" Stephenson, age 83, left peacefully for her Heavenly Home early Saturday morning October 14. Her smile, laugh, fudge, cakes, and sassiness will be greatly missed by so many.
She lived loud and loved louder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her favorite and only sister, Shirley Morgan, and brother Dan Herron.
She is survived and missed by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles "Papa" Stephenson; her daughters, Kimberly McGugan, and Hope Anthony (Kevin); her grandchildren, Megan Cline (Travis), Jordan McGugan (Ashley), Katie McGugan (David Peterson), Tyler Anthony; her great grandchildren, Pierce McGugan and Faith Parker; brothers, Clyde Herron (Liz), Jack Herron; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and of course, all of her kids from the Swain County School System.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 21, at Harmony Baptist Church of which she was a founding member.
We request anyone in attendance wear bright colors as she requested a celebration with much music and joy.
