MARION - Berniece McCormick, 85, of Marion died at 3:29 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at The Anchor Voyage Senior Living Center of Marion.
She worked at Montgomery Ward, FoodTown Grocery, as secretary for the pastor of First Baptist Church, spent 25 years working in the accounting department of Veteran's Hospital in Marion, before retiring after 15 plus years on the staff at John A. Logan College of Carterville.
She is survived by three sons, Jeff McCormick of Marion, Michael McCormick of Sumter, South Carolina, and Scott McCormick of St. Peters, Missouri; two daughters, Dana Mucci of Huntsville, Alabama, and Kathleen Henderson of River Falls,Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Lee McCormick; daughter, Tammy Mitchell; grandson, Clark Mitchell; sister, Delores Rausch; and three brothers, Jack Gray, Willard Gray and Gerald Gray.
Friends may call from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 2, at First Baptist Church in Marion. Memorial Service will begin at noon Saturday with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating. Inurnment will be private at Rose Hill Cemetary, Marion.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Marion, IL. Contribution envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral home, or donations may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St., Marion, IL 62959.
