Charles Perschbacher Obituary

JOHNSTON CITY -- Charles "Blue' Perschbacher, 91, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his family home.

Private graveside services will be Saturday, April 26, in Lakeview Cemetery, with Rudy Rodriguez officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Marion VFW, American Legion, and Illinois Army National Guard.

Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Veterans of Southern Illinois.

Blue was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Johnston City, the son of Lewis and Lula (Felts) Perschbacher.

He married Lillian I. "Izzy" (Bailey) on Aug. 29, 1953, in Cook County. She preceded him in death March 15, 2014.

He retired from Johnson and Johnson in Chicago on Aug. 1, 1983, after 37 years of service.

He was a Veteran of World War II proudly serving in the army, serving in all major battles. He also served in the 3698th Co. CCC, Camp Big Piney, G-75 in Big Piney, Wyo.

He is survived by his beloved dog "Bubba;" two granddaughters, Christy Hottes of Du Quoin, and Misty Perschbacher and special friend, Bobby Webb, of Johnston City; three great-grandsons, Christopher Hottes, Toby Hottes and Brenden Perschbacher; one great-granddaughter, Isabella "Lil Izzy" Webb; one brother, P.J Perschbacher and wife, Pat, of Johnston City; one sister, Marylu Adamson of Harrisburg; brother-in-law, Clyde Bailey of Herrin; sisters-in-law, Janie Spinks of Herrin, and Cheryol Rodriguez and husband, Rudy, of Herrin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Toby Perschbacher; a sister, Mildred Gavel; and two brothers, Paul "Doc" Perschbacher and William Perschbacher.

I have the best memories growing up of uncle blue he loved the cookouts and everyone getting together.I will never forget them.until we all see each other again give aunt Izzy a hug and kiss and Toby to love you all .we will be together again.
