John Edward (Shane) Formel
Curtis Mayfield’s Superfly, Billie Paul’s
Me and Mrs. Jones, Marvin Gaye’s
What’s Going On,
were some of Shane’s favorite songs.
Fishing was Shane’s passion,
but gamblin was Shane’s thangs...
and Sir John, Shane, and Sweet Back,
were a few of Shane’s nicknames.
Shane tried his hand at a few things,
an ole hustler at his best,
but later on in John Shane’s life
he put his ole school game to rest.
And that Shane he was a dreamer,
he wanted to have it all,
this man had a half court jumper shot
with nothing but net in basketball.
And Shane was well loved
by a lot of good women,
Yes, real good women in his life,
and some of us grew
to be just his friend,
and others he wed as his wives.
Shane’s legacy are his children,
he was a wealthy man in deed,
Monica, Raheim, Shane, Stacy, Brea, and J.P
are the fruit and wealth of Shane’s seed.
Written exclusively for Shane by his one friend
and his son Shane's mother
