Joshua Watson Obituary

WEST FRANKFORT - Joshua Allen Watson, 27, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, in Herrin Hospital, surrounded by all of his loving family and lifelong friends.

Josh was born July 3, 1986, in West Frankfort, the son of Rodney Watson and Teresa Henderson. Josh was adopted early in his life and became the loving son of Chad and Angie Watson Menees and, later, big bubby to Darian, Bailey and Noah.

He attended school in West Frankfort and graduated from FCHS in May 2004.

To all who knew Josh, he was a ball of fire and left his mark on everyone he touched. He was a kind soul and never met a stranger. He loved to take his brothers fishing and show them both how to work on cars and trucks. He was very protective and most definitely watched his little sister's every move. He was their world, as they were his.

Josh has left a mark on this world that will never be removed.

Survivors include his parents, Chad and Angie Watson Menees of West Frankfort; baby brothers, Bailey and Noah Menees of West Frankfort; older brother, Tyler Wysong of Logan; baby sister, Darian Menees of West Frankfort; great-grandparents, Leonard and Rosaline Crofford of Parrish; aunts and uncles, Mike (Cessy) Watson of El Paso, Texas, Adam Watson of West Frankfort, Heather (Ryan) Mondino of Galatia, Lisa (Ben) Roe of Alma, Ark., and Erin (Andy) Lawrence of Columbia, Tenn.; nephew, Landon Wysong of Logan, in addition to several great-aunts and uncles, cousins and friends; and special aunt, Missy McCamish.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Rodney Allen Watson; maternal grandparents, Jim and Connie Watson; and paternal grandparents, Leah and Gary Menees.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Dr. Brett Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Denning Cemetery on Orient Road. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
