Michael Worthen Obituary
Mr. Worthen was a self employed carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Michael was born June 28, 1951, in Murphysboro to Claude and Georgia (Derossett) Worthen. Michael was united in marriage with Janet Lane on July 27, 1974, in Murphysboro.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; his two sons, Michael E. Worthen Jr. of Herrin and Claude M. Worthen; one grandchild, Tyler M. Worthen of Murphysboro; father and stepmother, Claude and Roberta Worthen of Murphysboro; four brothers, Larry and Annie Worthen of Murphysboro, Gary and Bettsy Worthen of Murphysboro, Paul and Sue Worthen of Murphysboro, and Rick and Kathy Worthen of Murphysboro; one sister, Claudia Tibbs of Murphysboro; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa and Todd Ward of Herrin; and many dear nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and sister, Wilma.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
